Giant MillipedeAbout Giant Millipedes
What do Giant Millipedes Eat?Giant millipedes have the mouth structure that is similar to a grasshopper’s so they can only eat collared greens and flake fish food. Giant Millipede HabitatThey need a clean cage and warmth. Lamps are the most ideal, but a heating rock can work too. When feeding collared greens it is ideal to remove the waste at the end of the day. That way there will be no rotting in the cage. More CharacteristicsThey have good grip with their countless legs and can gain enough girth to equal that of a cigar. The move slowly and look intimidating, but are quite harmless. With these pets, bigger is not always better when buying them. The bigger ones have already reached adulthood and will not last long (perhaps 6 months at most). Before you deem these arthropods as little monsters remember that they have the same mouth structure as a grasshopper. Their mouths are meant to grind and chew their foods only. The inner mouth (where the food is ground with the jaws angled vertically). You have no reason to fear these pets as they are slow, non poisonous, and quite harmless. Photo Credit: Eggybird
