Feeding Your Horse and Caring for itHorses love fruit and sugar, although the bulk of their diet is based off of grain based plants. There are a few basic things one should know, never ride a horse after it has fed, wait for one half hour after putting the saddle on before tightening it and getting on, make sure the hoofs are clean and have no splits, and make sure their food is not rancid. These four legged beasts are perfect for rides along the beach or for long rides in the wilderness. They are also ideal for training and usually the larger of the horses are the more calm. This may not always be the case, but it seems to be the norm. Horses are herbivores, which means that they only eat vegetation (grains, hay) although they like apple and sugar.
