About Tarantulas

Tarantulas seem like the most fearsome of pets, yet some of the species are among the most harmless. They are huge and will happily reside in their cages with little or no interaction. They can be allowed out of their cages if you have the courage.

If they are to be in their cage, keep the lid secure so that there will be no chance of them escaping.

Most tarantulas will eat small rodents or insects. They will never eat plant life. They vary in color ranging from coal gray, brown, and black. Some of the more exotic spiders will very in color, but it is best to deal with the ones that are recommended to you.

Before Buying a Tarantula

Be sure to study on the Tarantula you plan on getting. There are two that are recommended and these are: Grammostola rosea

These spiders are normally more passive than their smaller counterparts, but should still be treated with respect. Their bites are seldom dangerous, but can hurt those bitten. This pet is not ideal for children. Some Tarantulas can also spin webs, this is not a concern and should not be considered that another spider has invaded their space.
