Triops

About Triops

Triops as PetsTriops seem like an odd choice at first as a pet, but they are among the most exotic and unique to have. They are difficult to see at first, but can grow up to 3 inches. They live in water for their full life span. They live on dried shrimp, algae, and other Triops! They start out about the same size as a piece of lint. In a matter of weeks, the Triops will reach a size that will equal about me? If you have an ideal set up, you can have the Triops sustain themselves and reproduce. Triops look like a trilobite in many respects save one; Trilobites are dead and Triops are still alive. Triops are a challenge to raise beyond the first generation. Triops are aquatic fish. Triops are also very active and if you look into their tank you will see the Triops swimming in the water.

More Characteristics of Triops

Triops appear as some sci-fi creation and even resemble trilobites. They are among the most unusual of pets. They require certain conditions and feeding habits to flourish, but are among the best pets to have for learning purposes with children and adults. Triops are semi-transparent and are commonly mistaken for Sea monkeys, however, they are both different creatures.

Caring for Triops as Pets

If this is a pet that is chosen, they are fairly cheap to get and require little maintenance, although it is recommended to study up on them before trying to raise them. That way you will be ensured to have them live their full cycles. Triops have been around for countless years and are commonly found in places where it is arid and they have to quickly breed and feed.

It is also a good idea to clean the water inside the Triops domain. Use a book or website that can provide you with the information needed to properly clean out the habitat. It will keep the Triops healthier and make the habitant they live in appear much better to those that will peer at these oddities.
